Carolyn McGlennon

I have been a creator since I was little, starting with drawing, painting, and designing outfits and accessories. My passion for artwork led me to pursue a degree in art. My interest shifted from realist oil painting to abstract painting with modified acrylic mediums. The process I use now came from struggles I encountered.

It starts with control of the canvas and paint, but when the paint starts to flow and migrate, I can only suggest its destination. This represents letting go of control, learning to pivot direction, and working in the moment. Developing beauty in the unknown mindset is my goal. The goal in creating is for it to be an immersive, relaxing process. Letting go when I'm overthinking, knowing when to stop if I've added too much.

A theme I am currently exploring is about color linked to mood and mindset. Representing this with carefully curated outfit choices that not only match the piece I am photographing my outfit with but choosing outfits that make me feel incredible.

My mission is to create what makes me happy, make things that stir up emotions, and give me the most authentic opportunity and embrace who I am.
